Graduate Professional Development

The seminar focuses on a variety of professional development topics that are vital to the success of students across different departments of the School of Human Ecology (SoHE). This course will focus on six domains that are relevant to early-career graduate students: Teaching & Learning, Versatile Degree & Career Options, Communicating Scholarship, Professional Expectations & Graduate School, Funding, and Leadership. These topics focus on the skills and knowledge that will help students succeed both in your graduate studies as well as their diverse future careers. As the Teaching Assistant for this course over the past 3 years, I have played an important role in evaluating, redesigning, and facilitating this course. The syllabus below outlines key learning activities, assessments, and daily lesson plans for the course.
